Dual rubber element couplings STEPFLEX

Hřídelové spojky STEPFLEX

Shaft couplings STEPFLEX consist of two hubs made of light aluminium alloy and a three-layer rubber HNBR element.

These couplings achieve high damping and low reaction force.

They are used mainly in applications with high tact (semiconductor manufacturing equipment), applications with requirements for damping of vibrations and resonances, connection of actuators to ball screws with long stroke and high speed, in production of actuators, positioning tables, 3D printers and more.

Basic characteristics of STEPFLEX couplings:

  • High damping
  • Vibration absorption
  • Low noise
  • Low reaction force (-40%)
  • No backlash
  • Easy to mount and remove
  • For shaft from 3–30 mm
  • Torgue up to 30 Nm (max 60 Nm)

Elastic element – three-layer rubber HNBR

The STEPFLEX elastic element consists of three layers of rubber of varying hardness.

The centre, widest part is made of hard rubber, with a soft rubber layer on either side.

This rubber element design provides a backlash-free effect. These couplings dampen vibration faster than flexible couplings that use metal in their elastic components. This suppresses the resonance phenomenon that can occur with stepper motors, avoiding resonance over a wide range of operating speeds. It also provides stable, high-speed control.
Type: STF – light aluminium alloy
