Single or double element type
SERVOFLEX disc shaft couplings are made either as single or double-element types.
The advantage of the single-element design is higher stiffness, smaller installation size and a lower price.
The advantage of the double-element design is higher flexibility suitable for mounting with higher misalignment and easier assembly.
Users can choose the type that is preferable to their storage options, depending on whether they need misalignment or require higher rigidity. For example, machine tool manufacturers usually choose a simple design because their products are very accurate and therefore do not need to solve misalignment problems, but high rigidity is very important to them.
